TL;DR Last night went terribly. I didn't finish last on my court but it was still a terrible night. On the first point of my first game I was hit in the face by the ball. Fortunately, it hit my paddle before hitting me in the face but it still set the tone for the night. The next point I had two balls driven at my face. It was at this point my night was ruined because I started playing angry. I don't play well when I'm angry. My partner and I did end up winning that game but for the rest of the night I struggled. I overhit several balls. Easy put-aways were driven into the net. I threw my paddle at one point, almost hitting my partner. Three of the five players on the court played well last night and it amplified my poor play. I won 3/8 games and the ones I lost were fairly large margins. Games in this league are played to 9 (win by one). Winners get a 2-point bonus so a 9-4 game is recorded as 11-4. This can make it difficult to make up points if your loses are more that one or two points. It was a bad night all around. I played poorly. I had a poor attitude. I didn't have a Christ-like attitude. I didn't have fun. Tomorrow I play in another league. Tomorrow I'll try to be a better person on the pickleball court.
